Every Quilt Has A Story

This twin-sized layer cake quilt does just that - it has a story. When Paula learned of a house that burned down and that they needed everything, she knew she wanted to help out by giving a surprise gift. Gathering fabric that was fun with bright colors of flowers and bicycles she began this labor of love. As you probably already know, it will go to the daughter. We're positive that this little girl will feel so special as she wraps herself up in this beauty.

Every quilt has a story.
This quilt design is the Piece of Cake
pattern made by Donna Myers,
an employee of Prairie Flower Crafts.
She made this for her granddaugther
who's favorite sports are volleyball
and basketball, so she could
use it on the bus for away games to
snuggle with, it is backed
with a velvety soft black minky
It is so bright and cheerful!
If you look closely you can see her granddaughter's
name stitched on the red fabric.

It seems that every quilt has a story and these (2) are no different. Brian Ballard was gifted a box of fabric along with several quilt blocks that his grandmother made. He brought them to PFC and we soon realized that we had enough blocks and material to make 2 quilts. Brian said that he plans on keeping one and giving the other to a family member. (Shown in the 1st pic is Amy Hazlett sewing the blocks with the red border. Rhonda Flickinger made the one with the blue border featured in the 2nd pic.) Every Quilt Has A Story!
Here's another featured quilter, Stephanie Walton. Look at these beautiful, bright, fresh colors! A couple of these prints were featured in our FB April 16, 2019 post! Every Quilt Has A Story!
From time-to-time, we love featuring our quilters at PFC! Here is a quilt top that is made by Jane Goodwin. She is originally from Pretty Prairie, KS but now resides in Calgary, Alberta! Once a year, for the past 5 years, Jane has driven 2 1/2 DAYS to get here because she loves to sew with us! She chose this fabric because it reminded her of a buffalo calf that was recently born in her area of Canada. Truly, Every Quilt Has A Story!
