|Hello again, all you Quiltanistas and Sewanistas!
Sorry that it’s been so long since we’ve gotten another newsletter out to you! We’ve had so many things going on that I hope we can update you without making this into a booklet.
Since our store is in a small town, I sometimes think that people think we’re sitting around waiting on business to come in the door. And, yes, we do have a lot of foot traffic for the size of our community. So, I’ve decided to give you a behind the scenes tour to show how busy we are. In fact, we’re so busy that we’re working double time to try to accomplish everything.
We currently have 11 quilts that need to be quilted on the Longarm. Usually, we have 25 plus that are on the rack ready to be completed. Depending on the size of the quilt this can take anywhere from 4-6 hours (small, wall hanging) to 8 hours (Queen Size) to complete one quilt. The ones working with the Longarm are Paula, Rhonda, and Angie.
We have several employees that help assist customers. They are Mona, Rhonda, Angie, Amy, and Sheila. Rhonda, Amy, Angie, Donna sew the quilt tops. Donna beautifully hand sews the trim; completing many of our quilts. Amy loves sewing quilt tops, and does several other displayed items such the placemats located at our new coffee bar area. Some other items she’s made are an apron and pot holders that feature various techniques. We have extras that come in to help out especially if we’re busy and also during our sales events. They are Wilma, Donna, Sharon and Brayden.
We are sad to announce that Wilma has just retired. And, Angie will be moving to Utah at the end of July. Her last day is June 30. But, we are going to celebrate these wonderful women! We will be announcing the date for their party soon – so stay tuned!
Sheila is our website expert. She updates the inventory while adjusting the website for a better online customer experience. She also is in charge of our POS system and completes numerous organizational projects along with providing expert advice to our customers. She has also streamlined our shipping and handling process on all our online orders.
Kathy is our Marketer, who focuses on all of social media advertising. She creates advertising campaigns that are distributed through email, newsletters, as well as social media. PFC is currently on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter. Soon we’ll have our own YouTube channel that everyone can subscribe for free to watch our video tutorials.
Jennifer is blogging all of our classes. We featured her blog that she created for our Five and Dime Quilt Class that was taught by Rhonda. If you missed this blog go to our Facebook Page and scroll back to May 30th. This is such a wonderful account of the class that’s complete with pictures. If you aren’t on Facebook – yet, you can also use this link to read her experience. https://www.ohhellojenny.com/blog/what-a-weekend-five-and-dime-class
Anne and Rhonda teach most of our classes. Some of the recent classes are the Five and Dime and the ongoing Block of the Month Scrap Buster. Paula and Rhonda will be teaching the Sew Days weekly projects. Rhonda was also the one who created PFC’s row for the 2019 Row by Row Experience. (More info below.)
Susan and Anne are our Video Ambassadors (An Ambassador is a person(s) who acts as a representative or promoter of a specified activity.) They help promote PFC by giving you a sampling of what’s new and/or information on all of our events. They are so appreciated!
Quilt Market in KC!!! We had a blast learning new techniques while gathering patterns and purchasing time-saving notions and beautiful fabric. We have brought back so many items that it’s too many to list. If you don’t follow us on Facebook now is the time to hit that “like” button because that is where we’ll be showing off all the new stuff first (well after our Sip & Sew Membership groups. That’s part of their perk for being a member.) As we present these items on Facebook we’ll add them on our website too (some are already listed and shown.) They can be found under the “New Items” and “Items Featured on Facebook” tabs.
If you haven’t planned a day trip – now is the perfect timing to do so.
SO FAR, Here’s a rundown of our upcoming scheduled events.

Sew Days is July 15 through Aug 19. During these six weeks are six classes that are held in our store. They are $5.00 for each week’s class. These projects are simple – easy to complete within a weeks’ time (probably a day for most of you!) The only stipulation is that we cannot distribute the patterns through mail or email. THEN, on Thursday, August 1, is our Premier Day! This is when we show all the BRAND NEW Christmas Fabric and Collections! (This New Premiered Christmas Fabric and Collections aren’t included in the Christmas in July sale.)
This bit of information isn’t so much about an event as it is for an added discount. It is the FabShop Hop! This is an opportunity is to win a $10.00 gift certificate that you can use at any participating quilt shop. Go to our website and on the first page and find a picture of the FabShop Hop Bunny. Click on this link and it will take you to FabShop Hop’s website, www.fabshophop.com . When you register you find the list of participating quilt shops. From there you can click on all the links of the different shops. Then, look for the “You Found It” Bunny on each website. Register each one you find.
